While the Aes Sedai and Asha'man fell behind the Dragon Reborn to fight at Tarmon Gai'don, they were not the only ones. The Aiel, apart from the Shaido, formed together to beat back the forces of darkness. The Seanchan, arriving in extraordinary numbers in the Westlands, agreed to lend their support after the Dragon swore to the Crystal Throne. The Children of the Light were divided into those who refused to ally themselves with the White Tower and the Dragon, and those who were willing to fight against the Dark One at any cost. The armies of every nation marched toward Dragonmount to lend their support in the final battle.

In the final strike against the Dark One, the Dragon Reborn was killed and Dragonmount obliterated. With heavy casualties on every side, the battle was won, and, working together, the Aes Sedai and Asha'man resealed the Dark One's prison. The city of Tar Valon was wrenched almost apart, and the White Tower shaken to its core; the Black Tower, besieged by darkfriends, was destroyed, though the city of Caemlyn still stands.

The Borderland armies, working together, were critical to the success at Tarmon Gai'don. Though they suffered the heaviest casualties of any non-channellers, their nations recovered well. The informal federation, which had been created by the leaders of those lands in the lead-up to the battle, remained in place after a loose fashion. They still devote their lives to fighting back the Blight, which has receded somewhat following the last battle, and to warding off the remaining forces of the Dark One.

The nations held by the Seanchan were released, under the agreement with the Dragon Reborn. Though Seanchan still remain in the Westlands, many returned home. It is thought that, in the future, they may seek their own settlements in the Westlands, though they have agreed not to wage war against the inhabitants of any nation in order to do so.

Civil war in Arad Doman has ceased, and there is a tenuous peace between Arad Doman and Tarabon. Thanks to improved trade between the two nations under the Dragon Reborn, former hostilities between Illian and Tear have largely disappeared. The First of Mayene managed a deal with the Steward of Tear before Tarmon Gai'don, ensuring the continued independence of the city-state in return for heavy trade alliances with Tear.

The Children of the Light, shattered after Tarmon Gai'don, relinquished their unfettered hold upon Amadicia. While it is still their base of operation, the King is no longer perceived as merely a puppet to the Lord Captain Commander. The Hand of the Light, officially disbanded, is believed to have continued its operations in private. Espousing a more balanced doctrine, the Children now recognise the White Tower, though this moderate stance appears to be waning somewhat as the memories of unity during Tarmon Gai'don begin to fade.

The Aiel have retreated back to the Waste, reforming all clans apart from the Shaido. The city of Rhuidean now thrives, though most Aiel still choose to live away from the city. It remains as a city of meeting, celebration and custom, serving as a reminder to the Aiel of the Dragon, and of their onetime unity. The Aiel Wise Ones work in harmony with the Aes Sedai, and men and women are given the opportunity to train under both traditions.

The Atha'an Miere have enjoyed increased trade among the mainlands, and retain a growing number of territories upon the land. They, too, keep their agreement with the White Tower, though in a modified form; Atha'an Miere girls are free to train at the White Tower, while Aes Sedai often opt to live and work among the sea folk for a period of time.
