Raising Requirements: Garrison
Characters in the Garrison begin as Trainees before being raised to Youngling and, finally, to Gaidin or Gaidar. To be raised from Trainee to Gaidin, you must complete:

One introductory sword credit
Five lesson credits
One teaching credit
Two social roleplay credits
One major roleplay credit
Any applicable Talent credits

Introductory Sword

Introductory sword credits should be completed in a class. For most characters, this will be their first time training in a structured combat environment, and the class is designed to provide knowledge of basic WoT sword forms, fighting stance and grip, and to determine - or begin to determine - your character's fighting style.

Introductory sword class requirements may be determined by the teacher.

Introductory sword credits must be completed at Trainee level.

Lessons

Lesson credits must include at least one basic weaponry credit, one advanced weaponry credit, and one bonding credit. The two remaining credits may be in any area you choose.

Lesson credits do not have to be fulfilled through taking classes. All of them may be, if you enjoy taking classes, or none, if you prefer social roleplays. Both basic and advanced weaponry credits may be fulfilled by taking a class at the appropriate level, by completing independent training roleplays, or by completing an approved social roleplay. Bonding credits will usually be completed in a class, but may be fulfilled by an approved social roleplay. For one or both of your remaining credits, you may choose to complete a weaponry or elective class, penance, independent training or an approved social roleplay.

Weaponry, bonding and elective class requirements may be determined by the teacher. Social roleplays used to fulfil lesson credits must be at least three posts of 500 words each.

Basic weaponry and elective credits may be completed at any level. Advanced weaponry and bonding credits must be completed at Youngling level.

Teaching

The teaching credit is simple - your character is required to teach a class. This may be either an elective or weaponry class. In addition, teaching credit may be given for completing an approved social roleplay.

Social roleplays used to fulfil teaching credits must be at least three posts of 500 words each. For more information on class requirements, please see the information on teaching a class.

Teaching credits must be completed at Youngling level.

Social Roleplay

Social roleplay credits are earned through having your character interact with others. It is recommended that you collaborate with other players for this requirement, however you may elect to have two or more of your own characters interact.

Social roleplays must be at least five posts (per character). There is no word limit for social roleplays (other than those set out in the site rules), however it is recommended that they be at least 500 words.

At least one social roleplay must be completed at each level.

Major Roleplay

A major roleplay is intended to be a solo thread in which your character undergoes significant character development. The scope of a major roleplay is left open for you to decide, however all major roleplays must be approved by an administrator before you begin your thread. To gain approval, simply PM an administrator with a proposed outline of your MRP.

Major roleplays must be at least five posts of 500 words.

Major roleplay credits may be completed at any level.

Talents

Talents are optional, and each character may have a maximum of three Talents. For each Talent your character posesses, you will have to complete an extra credit. You may fulfil this credit by completing a class in the Talent, or by completing an approved social roleplay in which your character discovers the Talent.

Talent class requirements may be determined by the teacher. Social roleplays used to fulfil Talent credits must be at least three posts of 500 words each.

Talent credits must be completed at Youngling level, except with permission.

Remember, these requirements are designed to be flexible. If you have any questions about these requirements, feel free to contact an administrator.
